Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I have a massage?

There are many types of massage techniques, some of which date back several millennia. The reason it has been practiced for such a long time is the health benefits that it can offer.

Regular massage first and foremost is great for reducing stress and anxiety. Not only does massage help to physically relax muscle tension but it also helps your body to produce serotonin. Known as the happy hormone, serotonin can help to reduce your stress levels.

By releasing serotonin into your body, this, in turn, helps you to produce melatonin which is a natural chemical that our bodies produce in order to help you sleep.

Aside from serotonin, your body also produces white blood cells when you have a massage which helps to boost your immune system. So it can help people who often suffer from colds or who regularly feel run down.

Improved circulation is another benefit, helping to deliver oxygen and nutrients to your muscles. It helps to keep your organs and digestive system in good working order and also helps to clear toxins from your body.

We often carry tension across our neck and shoulders, so applying pressure to the right areas can help to reduce muscular stiffness, helping your body to return to a more comfortable and relaxed state.

In short, massage is a fantastic way to boost our bodies, ease physical pains and balance our minds.

How often should I have a massage?

If you are looking to help manage your stress levels, then once a month is a good place to start. However, it’s not uncommon to have a massage treatment twice a month. It all depends on the individual and their needs. We have designed our pricing structure sensibly because we want you to see our treatments as regular, affordable preventative care, rather than a one-off luxury.

Do I need to undress for a massage?

You should undress to the level that you are comfortable with. Some of our clients like to get completely undressed while some prefer to keep their underwear on. It is important that you are comfortable and relaxed and should not be worrying about what you are wearing.

We will give you complete privacy to undress and dress before and after the treatment.

During the treatment, you will always be properly covered with towels to make sure you are warm and comfortable, with only the area being worked on being exposed. If you have any concerns or are uncomfortable in any way, then you must let us know either before or during the treatment so we can help.
