3 Tips for Beautiful Skin this Summer

Looking for beautiful skin this summer? Then check out my top three tips to keep skin looking and feeling great!

We all have things we would like to improve with our skin. Breakouts? Signs of aging? Sensitivity? Whatever it may be remember:

  1. You are beautiful no matter what. Don’t let these things knock your confidence.
  2. It may be easier to help these issues than you think.

No you don’t have to spend a fortune. No you don’t have to spend hours applying products. And no you don’t have to wash your face with water blessed by a Tibetan monk to look or feel good.

One of the best bits of advice from my 15 years of experience is KISS – and no i don’t mean pukka up. “Keep It Super Simple”.

The thing that will improve your skin the most is a good basic and consistent routine. Use these three steps to improve the effectiveness of your moisturiser and keep your skin glowing and protected.

Cleansing

Getting this but right will make all the difference, trust me. Get yourself a soap free cleanser that is suitable for your skin type. If you’re unsure of your skin type just drop me a message and I will go through it with you.

Your cleanser will remove make up, impurities and excess oil. If you’re wearing make up double cleanse! Why? Once to remove makeup and twice to cleanse the skin! For removal use a flannel. It gently exfoliates and ensures all the cleanser, make up and impurities are fully removed.

My top cleansers are:

  • Dry/damaged skin – Orange Flower NYR Organic
  • Normal/combination- Frankincense NYR Organic
  • Oily/blemished – Parmarossa NYR Organic

Exfoliation

This should be done roughly every 3 days, it will remove dead skin, work to refine pores, smooth and brighten your complexion. Make sure you stay away from scrubs with microbeads. They are very harmful to the environment!

Try not to be too aggressive with it either, this can lead to irritation and scratching, the last thing you want! Remember to make sure your exfoliator is suitable for your skin type to keep your skin balanced.

SPF

The sun, pollution and free radicals can cause up to 70% of premature aging, not to mention sun damage.

To prevent this I apply a good SPF 30 everyday on top of my moisturiser (make sure its UVA & UVB!) Doing this every morning makes sure my skin is protected. This is another super simple step that will not only give you gorgeous skin this spring but keep you looking and feeling great for years to come!

My go to SPF is NYR Organic wild rose SPF 30. It has the most beautiful scent and will keep your skin protected.

Our routines don’t have to be extravagant and unmanageable, I’m a working mum with 2 kids (3 if you count my partner) so i know what its like to need an effective routine that fits in with a busy lifestyle.

Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice daily then follow my top tips. Try looking for more natural products as they work best with our skin.
